The problem SDL faced

Global 4 were engaged by SDL as a new opportunity to review SDL’s existing mobile estate. With the current estate direct through a major network having a range of services and a lack of control over our estate, we felt it necessary to review accordingly.

Global 4’s proactive mobile department were provided with the information of our current contract as well as our usage reports of the last 3 months. With this they were able to provide a clear cost saving as well as providing us with a plan that would best suit our needs on a long-term basis.

The Solution Provided

Global 4 implemented and project managed the project from start to finish, with users in different parts of the country and different requirements, a plan was created to offer multiple migrations across the group so the whole estate wasn’t in transition at one time. Over the space of 4 days all connections moved to Global 4 and ties were cut with our provider at the time.

Unbeknown to us, there was a second account with our incumbent supplier, having alerted Global 4 and provided the relevant information, this was moved over within 1 week. The flexibility offered by Global 4 has allowed us to review our estates usage and highlight which connections have phased out over time. With Global 4’s consultancy we are able to work to streamline our costs to what is needed.

The Results

Global 4 were able to successfully migrate 241 connections over 4 days seamlessly with a further 20 following with very little notice. The hard work and foresight from Global 4 have allowed us to cut our expenditure as well as providing us the valuable insight needed for a big company to be able to manage their estate.
