Global 4 Board of Directors
Formed in 1998 by Nigel Barnett (Managing Director), Rob Whyte-Venables (Service Director) & Jenny Fright (Administration Director), Global 4 is led by an experienced team of Directors with an extensive track record in the telecoms industry. They are passionate about telecoms.
The original team of Directors have recently been joined by Simon Johnson (Finance Director) who brings with him a wealth of business and commercial experience, having previously worked for telecoms giant Cable and Wireless and for BP.

Nigel Barnett - Managing Director
A renowned successful businessman, having established and sold five companies before founding Global 4, Nigel has led the business through controlled organic growth with a turnover of over £18 million.
Prior to establishing Global 4, Nigel was on the Board of Directors of a large PLC in the office equipment sector and brings with him over 37 years of business experience.
Nigel’s achievements with Global 4 have been the heavy investment in specialist billing software, as well as several Prestige Partner Status accolades with leaders in the telecoms industry, making Global 4 a very special Company to deal with and to work for.
Jenny Fright - Administration Director
With over 25 years of experience within the Telecoms industry, Jenny has helped build the prestigious client base Global 4 has today.
From overseeing the initial client consultation through to the implementation of the account management on the system, Jenny manages the important new client journey along with managing all other administrative aspects of Global 4’s day-to-day business.
Robert Whyte-Venables - Service Director
A highly regarded expert in his field, Rob was part of the Global 4 start up team and still maintains a hands-on approach to his role. Over 25 years of telecoms industry experience stands Rob in good stead to lead the team of Field Engineers to deliver outstanding customer service and maintenance support.
From large scale strategic planning of telecom infrastructures through to overseeing a simple single office telephone installation, Rob is an ambassador of the Global 4 service philosophy which is valued by customers and admired by competitors alike.
Simon Johnson - Finance Director
Simon joined Global 4 in 2009 as Finance Director to build on the sound foundations already put in place and develop further processes to drive the Company forward to the next exciting phase.
For the last 2 and a half years Simon has been working for Thomson Reuters PLC, as Head of Business Planning, in an operational business planning role for its global network communications department. He is a CIMA qualified accountant.
On joining Global 4 Simon said "I am delighted to have joined Global 4 at what is a very exciting time in the Company’s development. It is quite refreshing to now be involved with a smaller organisation that is lean, fit and lacks the bureaucracy and lengthy decision making processes experienced within larger corporate organisations."
