Aspire Wireless DECT
Wireless communication is revolutionising the way we do business. Using Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephony AspireDECT makes sure your staff are always accessible.
Instant Accessibility
Where missed calls can mean lost revenue or at best frustrated customers many businesses have found their main communication problem is getting hold of internal staff.
Contacting key staff has never been easier - mobile phones, voice mail, paging have all contributed to this change. But this technology has been mainly aimed at staff out of the office such as the field personnel.
Yet locating staff who are on the premises yet away from their desks - service personnel, shop floor supervisors, inventory controllers has always been a problem. AspireDECT solves that problem.
Description
Aspire DECT is an integrated solution for staff who are constantly moving around the workplace. It works on the principle of setting up a network of cordless transmitters to ensure that staff on the move are always within the range of a base station and are therefore always contactable.
Roaming and handover (the ability to pass a connected call from cordless cell to another) makes this process automatic and transparent to the user.
With a capacity of 512 Handsets and 12 Base Stations AspireDECT meets the requirements of most cordless users. Typical users include:
- Retailers
- Manufacturing
- Hotels
- Healthcare
- Warehouses
In real installations many factors influence the practical maximum number of handsets on a system. Generally we would recommend no more than 10 handsets per base station although up to 512 handsets can be registered, ideal where organisations are running multi-shift working with staff on different shifts having their own handsets.
Base Stations
The key to successful DECT implementation is the correct numbers and placement of base stations and extenders. DECT base stations have a line of site range of 300-400 metres in a unidirectional circle. In practice within a building the useable range is on average 50-100 metres. Each base station can handle up to 4 simultaneous calls. If more than 4 simultaneous calls are required then add additional base stations.
Repeaters
All DECT Base Stations have the 50-300 metre range limitation. AspireDECT Repeaters can extend the flexibility and improve the coverage of base stations. Each repeater can extend the coverage of a base station by 50%. Unlike Base Stations, Repeaters do not add additional speech channels. They can be used for example to extend the coverage range in a particular direction as in the diagram below.
Retail
Improved Customer Service
No loudspeaker calls in supermarket, easy and quick access to staff, fast deliveries from warehouse - fewer out of stock situations.
Other Relevant Segments:
- Supermarkets & Hypermarkets
- Department Stores
- Production Facilities
This could be the service station attached to a supermarket or a sports field near to a school. Up to six repeaters can be added to each base station allowing a significant increase in directional range
AspireDECT Handsets
We offer two versions - a standard version, and a more robust version for heavy duty usage such as by shop floor staff.
Standard Handset with Cradle
Both handsets are light, and above all easy-to-use. Their functional design, tailored for high usage environments, improves reliability which can be a major problem with any mobile handset.

PERIPHERAL EQUIPMENT
External Antennae
Base Stations are normally equipped with an integral aerial for installation within a building. This may not be convenient for certain users so we supply a base station option where the weatherproof aerial can be externally sited remote from the base station.
Headsets
For users who require use of their hands whilst on the phone then a headset is ideal. In this mode auto answer and auto disconnect features can be used allowing full handsfree operation.
Holster
For use with the belt lip the holster keeps the handset held securely significantly reducing the likelihood of damage and providing a safe way of holding the handset.
